'Standing Out'
Standing over the banks of the Eastern Omo River; this young Karo tribe warrior shows off his strength with his statuesque and fierce pose. The Omo river was very low at the time which is a worry as the Karo tribe rely on the river to practise flood-retreat cultivation, growing sorghum, maize and beans. They live a simple life but they are rich in culture and traditional life skill. It was a joy to spend time with them learning about their life and creating beautiful portraits of them.
